The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Senior Supply Planning Analyst to support and ensure the effective execution of all activities that contribute to the achievement and continuous improvement of our logistics planning and performance for outbound operations in Europe.
The primary responsibility of this role is to coordinate the movement of commercial products valued at more than USD 1.0 to 1.2 billion from our refineries in Japan, the UK, Brazil, and Canada, including Nickel Class I and Class II products, from production facilities and warehouses to domestic and international customers. The role ensures timely deliveries, optimizes transportation route and costs, and maintains high service levels to final customers.
This is permanent position. The location is St-Prex, Switzerland. It’s a Full time position (100%), 5 days a week. We give 2 days of home office flexibility. We expect someone to start immediately.
Additionally, in this position you will:
- Develop and implement efficient outbound logistics plans (weekly, monthly and yearly) to ensure timely delivery of commercial products (Nickel) to customers
- Coordinate with production, sales, and warehouse teams to align shipping schedules with customer requirements
- Be accountable for the scheduling work management planning and execution including short-term planning, resource coordination (fixing vessels as required), and delivery of the shipping schedule.
- Responsible for coordinating with plant, regional marketing units, local and worldwide logistics providers the readiness of cargo and shipping schedule in order to accomplish with delivery terms conditions assuring quality, packing, labelling and weighting
- Act as the primary escalation point of contact for all operational issues raised by both internal and external stakeholders.
- Monitor and analyse transportation, carrier, 3rd party vendors performance metrics, including delivery times, costs, and carrier performance.
- Provide a resource link between carriers and Vale customers, including providing advice on interpretation of contractual agreements, logistics practices and best shipping methods and routes.
- Track shipping schedules, perform all required system related updates and resolve issues that may affect shipping, vessel slippage risk and deliveries to the customers
- Provide technical input into the formulation of overall commercial strategy for the product group or business unit.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance logistics efficiency, reduce costs, and reduce complexity
- Financial reconciliation of freight activities, including capturing of all costs, reconciliation, including receipt of invoices and processing of payments
- Address any service issues related to a 3rd party vendor promptly
- Utilize SAP and data analysis tools to track shipments , analyze logistics data, and provide guidance to management
- Ensure all outbound shipments comply with relevant regulations and company policies
- Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in logistics and transportation
- Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance overall logistics operations.
About You
Education:
- University degree in Supply Chain, International Trade or equivalent
Experience:
- 8-15 years of experience in the field

- Determined problem solver with high level attention to details
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Solid time management skill and ability to prioritise workload in a changing environment and within tight deadlines

- Knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance requirements
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, BO/BI, Copilot Agents
- Strong knowledge of SAP ECC and/or SAP S4/Hana, SD module.
- Fluent in English
